Our Show Juror:  Sheryl Wasinger
https://www.sherylwasingerstudio.com
As far back as I can remember I wanted to be an artist. As a child, a brand-new box of Crayola crayons, and my coloring book were all I needed to keep myself content.

I started my formal education at the University of Northern Colorado. While there, I spent time in Italy studying art as part of my college education. After college I began a teaching career in art and spent over 30 years in the profession. While teaching I continued my art education at Rhode Island School of Design where I earned my master’s degree.

In the beginning of 2019, I began painting full time and now I am dedicated solely to my art. My choice of medium is acrylic paint on canvas. My art is focused on a colorist palette, with a representational- abstract art style. My use of color and design is an example of this in my paintings. My current subject matter is inspired by the beauty of mother nature. My landscapes are often inspired by my home state of Colorado, although, I have been known to sneak across the Colorado border into New Mexico and Wyoming for inspiration as well.
