Plein Air Watercolor and Ink with Pam Hostetler
Saturday, August 22nd; 9-noon at Sterne Park

Picture
There are few things more pleasurable than sitting in nature, looking at a view with paint, brushes, and ink.  In this class we talked about what is important in plein air painting (painting outdoors).  How to simplify.  We saw what is the most important thing to us and draw it in ink or pencil.  We then finished with watercolor.

Pam Hostetler is a local artist living in Franktown, Colorado.  She has been drawing and painting since childhood.  She has been working exclusively in watercolor for the last 20 years.

Pam is a self-taught artist, but credits many workshop teachers for her knowledge.  Workshop teachers such as Buffalo Kaplinski, Carl Dario, Skip Lawrence, Tony Couch, Bev Jozwiak, Lian Zhen, and John Lovett have had a great influence.  She also studied with Judy Patti in Littleton for 5 years.

For many years, Pam marketed her work at local art fairs such as Castle Rock Art Fest, Art in the Park in Parker, Fine Art Festival in Estes Park and The Art Fair in Beaver Creak.  She is retired at this point.
