"After near dedication to the acrylic medium, I have migrated to alcohol ink . . . "
"After retiring from the structured discipline of the commercial banking world and after the untimely death of my son and grandson, I began a journey of healing via visual art. It has been challenging to let go (be whimsical) and accept pieces for what they are: Not a statement but rather the depiction of a feeling.
After near dedication to the acrylic medium, I have migrated to alcohol ink. It is a very fluid and mostly uncontrollable medium that requires an impermeable surface at times dries to fast—and that is the challenge! Abstract impressionism, sometimes by accident. Truly, at least for me, a much needed go with the flow vibe. I have been fortunate to be accepted to juried shows and receive awards. While that has never been an objective it is nice to be validated in such a manner. Associates in the art community deserve my thanks and gratitude as do folks that have my art in their collection." |
