May 4 - Victoria Kwasinski  -- "Intutive Painting" Workshop

Remember when you were a child, and you were lying in the grass and found stories and shapes in the clouds?  Victoria lead us through an exploration of finding shapes, themes, and stories from initial washes of color and mark making . . . we then used our intuition to develop these ideas into great paintings.

The workshop was captivating.  I am thinking of it as "from abstract to obsession" as I cannot stop thinking about the possibilities for future paintings and how to save more than a few failures.

Victoria Kwasinski is truly a "teacher".  Her demonstration was clear and inspiring.  Her point of view enlightening.  She took the time to visit with each one of us on her own and if we needed particular help she came right over.  I can see her being an insightful mentor to any artist no matter their  medium or chosen style.  Her critiques inspiring.

The class members were open and welcoming.  And, such talented artists - each in their own right.  I look forward to seeing them again at future workshops.
